Marilyn Roberts

Marilyn Roberts is a registered clinical psychologist who obtained her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology in 2001 from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Working from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) orientation, Marilyn works with children, adolescents, and families, treating a variety of mental health difficulties. She has been working with Dr. Kiran Pure and Associates since April 2010, and prior to this, worked for nine years with the IWK Health Centre in Community Mental Health with a multidisciplinary team doing psychological assessments and implementing treatment plans for children and youth. She provided group therapy for anxiety and depression and ran parenting groups for disruptive behavior disorders. She specializes in ADHD and other disruptive behaviour disorders, and helps parents with the behaviour management of such children and youth as well as parents who have children with behaviour difficulties related to other pediatric and/or psychiatric disorders. Other areas of interest and experience include providing treatment to patients presenting with anxiety disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), separation anxiety, and specific phobias, mood disorders, and school refusal, and to patients with difficulties related to self-esteem, body image, anger, stress, and relationships. She also collaborates with other professionals, schools and community agencies, including the Department of Community Services, to provide comprehensive treatment plans.
