PsyD candidate, Psychology Resident

Monique LeBlanc, PsyD candidate from Adler University in Vancouver, British Columbia, is currently completing a one year residency program at Dr. Kiran Pure & Associates from May 2019-May 2020, after which time she will join the psychology team at this clinic to provide direct client care to children and families.

Monique has an intensive background in mental health issues in children and families, and a breadth of knowledge and experience in trauma based care. Her therapeutic approach is guided largely by Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. Further, she uses an approach appropriate to each client that she sees, integrating modalities such as Attachment Theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy in her work. Monique is also a certified Circle of Security facilitator, which is an attachment-based group for parents. In addition, Monique conducts neuropsychological assessments.

Overall, Monique uses a client-centered approach to form deep and meaningful relationships with her clients. She is passionate about her work and providing the best care possible for her clients. As this is her residency, Monique will be broadening her skills at the clinic over the year.
