Ron Sherrard

Ron has been working at the clinic in various capacities over the last two years.  He provides overall support to ensure the clinic and staff needs are met and the clinic is operating in the best way possible to meet the needs of our families.

Ron will be co-facilitating the Clubhouse Social Skills and Self Regulation group and using a fitness/recreational approach to help kids learn and practice social skills, emotional regulation, and team building skills.  Ron is a Personal Trainer Specialist (certified through Canfit Pro) and he will use these skills to help develop physical activities and games that allow Clubhouse participants to gain further practice on how to build relationships, work with others, and deal with winning and losing.

Ron has worked with a number of adolescents who come to the clinic and has provided some support teaching them how to use physical activity as an adjunct to psychotherapy.  He believes in the concept of Healthy Heart, Healthy Mind.   Ron is an advocate for the idea that the most important step in getting fit is the first one…Just Start.  He also believes you don’t need a gym to get fit.  He puts these ideas into practice in his daily life and in helping others achieve their fitness goals.   Ron works with people of all ages and takes a client-directed approach, incorporating what most inspires you in your daily life into your fitness goals.  He offers one-on-one training as well as small-group boot camp fitness classes to children, adolescents, and parents.

In addition to physical activity, Ron appreciates books, music, his pets, and politics.
