Abby began working at Dr. Kiran Pure and Associates as an intern in October 2020 and joined the practice as a Psychologist (Candidate Register) in December 2021. She graduated from Acadia’s Master of Science in Clinical Psychology Program in October 2021. Abby also has experience doing testing in schools for research projects examining reading and literacy in elementary-aged students.
Abby provides both psychotherapy and assessment services, and prides herself on her warm and empathetic approach. She has a broad background working with various mental health challenges, but has a particular interest in working with children and adolescents presenting with anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Abby primarily uses cognitive-behavioural and acceptance and commitment models of therapy. For assessments, she offers services for clients experiencing learning challenges, attention difficulties, or mental health struggles. She focuses on building a strong connection with each of her clients to formulate how best to meet their individual needs. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, and spending time with her cat Salem.
